Lois Lovelady - Underwriting Sales

Lois went to New York City at the age of 21 to pursue a career in the fashion industry. After a couple of years working with a designer in publicity, she ventured into events planning with a commercial florist. This included designing and coordinating weddings and parties, as an example, at the Boathouse in Central Park. Two years later, a college friend (a stock broker) needed to sell his last few shares of an IPO (Initial Public Offering) and asked for her help. One phone call later, she sold the stock and decided to go to Wall Street. She was a successful Financial Advisor with Prudential Securities and Oppenhiemer Financial for five years. After ten years in “the big city”, she returned to her hometown in Mississippi. She then helped start up a check verification and collection company, Security Check. Lois eventually owned 5 franchises, while also teaching a sales school one-week-a-month for seven years. The school helped educate new salespeople and franchise owners to learn their competition and practice advanced sales techniques. She then sold her franchises and moved to Jackson, MS, to help some friends with their business. Their business was “mobile ads”, ads rotating on the side panels of trucks. After contacting the owner of a local radio station (to advertise his station), she set up a meeting. That meeting was with Edward Saint Pe’, also the founder of WLEZ. Now, a year later, Lois has been one of our top salespeople with our company. Lois holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and is Licensed in Securities: Series 7 / Series 63 and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
